There seems to be a bug on the portfolio-items. When adding a portfolio and then clicking to view the portfolio item page – nothing shows except the header. This doesn’t happen on your demo however i’ve installed multiple attempts with the demo content and have the same result. Please advise how this can be resolved?

ReplyDeleteThere are multiple stuff could possibly impact that. You may try to turn off all third party plugins and see how it works since we do not have that problem when we install theme locally.

ReplyDeleteCould you please try to navigate to that file within your theme folder here is the path: wp-content/themes/deploy/framework/modules/portfolio/portfolio-functions.php and there are two thing you could do: First one is to add this line before WP_Filesystem() call:
use require_once(ABSPATH . ‘wp-admin/includes/file.php’);

Hello, I have a question about theme security. I see that this theme doesn’t get updated frequently. Are themes in general as vulnerable to XSS Injections and Security problems as plugins and wordpress core files are? Can you explain how you secure your theme. I am worried because I have your theme installed for a client. How futureproof are premium themes on TF, including yours ? Thanks for your help

ReplyDeleteYou can be sure it is secure because our theme has gone through a strict process of testing from themeforrest. Whenever an update from a plugin occurs we are always working on to update the theme as well so it is compatible. Currently we are working on updating all of our themes and whenever a new security issue appears it is always a priority that we are working on to solve.

Dear Mikado, I am working on a client site which is using your Deploy theme.
ReplyDeleteIt is impossible to keep WordPress installation updated because your too outdated theme breaks. I made several tests on a clone site, after the first occasion happened and needed to recover with a backup. Security issues and too many incompatibilities with a lot of updated plugins, WooCommerce first, Visual Composer add-ons too.
You said here almost 1 month ago “We’re currently working on major update for all our themes, which will include plugin updates as well, but we can’t tell exactly when it is going to be released. One month, your latest update is Version 1.6 – December 20th, 2016.
My client build the entire site using the theme Mikado Visual Composer Elements, so it is impossible to simply change the theme to fix the problem. The content becomes useless. This is a big problem.
Can you please find out a solution?
Are you able to release an update in the next hours/days, not months?
Or can you tell me what other theme of yours is fully Deploy compatible, using the same Mikado Visual Composer Elements, having the same structure, and recently updated, so that it could be use to replace it with a similar layout and without having to rewrite hundreds of pages of content?
And are you willing to help your client substituting Deploy with another one for free?
Or if you can offer a faster way to make your Mikado Visual Composer Elements working with other themes outside your framework.
I noticed you just updated “Optimize – SEO, Digital Marketing, Social Media Theme” Version 1.7 – June 6th, 2017 which is your most sold here with 1826 sales. It seems it is the only one in your top ten sales updated, after 6 months from the previous one. Deploy is sixth, with 867 sales. Maybe can replace Deploy.
Another replacement may be “Hue – A Mighty, Massive & Modern All-Encompassing Multipurpose Theme” Version 1.4 – May 27th, 2017, but it has 362 sales, it ranks 11th for your sales.
And can you reassure my client, and your client you will release more frequent updates in the future?
It is a pity being in this situation, your Deploy theme is a very complete theme, has a lot of useful features, your client trusted you and use them all. The result is nice, but looses all its value if it is useless.

Our team is really working hard on updates, and if you checked our profile, you can see that we have released updates for most of our themes. ReplyDeleteYou already stated 1 month ago about update in progress, from your words I cannot know if you are talking about days/weeks or months.
There are incompatibilities between the other plugins needed to have that site up. Many of them. I cannot use Visual Composer Add-Ons, the client already spent on them and they are useless. Latest WooCommerce too, with all the related ones.
Having updates with the other required plugins is not the problem.
Some core plugins chosen to interact with people, and selling their products fails too. This is what they asked me to solve, as fast as possible. But I cannot simply switch theme, all their content made using your own Mikado Visual Composer Elements cannot be rendered outside your framework.
If we are in the case to wait for 1/2 days more, he maybe will understand. We were already awaiting for the anticipated updates.
Otherwise can you please offer us another working solution, we can accept slightly changes in the site layout, using another themes of yours, rewriting every page is a huge work and will not be done in a couple of days.
Your list of updated themes shows a lot of your brand new releases. I already checked your Top Ten selling themes and 9 out of 10 are out of date.
You also released new themes with an update in a couple of days, to assure the compatibility with WooCommerce in the last month.
Offer me/us a working solution please.

Update is in process, and since we updated bunch of our themes in a month then it is normal to except that Deploy theme will be soon enough in a week I guess, but that not depend on me entirely and I cannot give you exact date and time of release.

ReplyDeleteYou completely avoid to get to the point of a theme substitution. If all your themes are based on the same framework, then your own Mikado Visual Composer Elements should work seamlessly, and you should be able to advice us which is the best matching substitute for Deploy. Maybe I am wrong thinking this. My client did not know that using your nice and useful elements would have give him all this troubles, in case of future theme changes. If the price to pay to change future layouts is to remain in the Mikado family, great, it is acceptable, if Mikado products are reliable.
Visual Composer elements and our element are working jut fine and they are working fine in all our themes. If you have some problem with some of elements which we offer trough our theme you can consult our support trough support forum at https://mikado.ticksy.com . I cannot help you here since you are saying that something isn’t working. We always resolve bugs if they exist so lets see the problem which you are having with our elements and to try to fix elements if they need fixing.

My client did not know that your Mikado Visual Composer Elements works only in your framework, otherwise he may have chose another theme or another way to build his site. The incompatibility with actual version and WooCommerce is clear, that is one of the primary reasons you have to update your themes. These are not little bugs, we all know. Neither easy to fix, they require a major update.

You say in a week or so there will be an update to Deploy. But this time could be higher, and you cannot predict it. Fine. Can you please provide us another themes of your, the best matching with Deploy, already updated within the last weeks, so that we can update our site, have our WooCommerce working back again, and use it until Deploy update will be released and in that case we will easily switch back to our actual layout?

Theme Forest do not offer way for substitution and terms are clear that they are owner of everything item sold on the market. Prediction is that it will be in a week, but we have various tasks to finish and to attend to, so it can be +- 2 days and not like 2 months. This theme look great, but I agree with many of the commenters that support is very very slow. Also, the theme is not responsive at all which is a huge problem! Our website looks fine on a desktop, but it’s completely distorted on laptops and mobile devices. Judging from Mikado’s support site, it seems like this is a common issue, but I can’t find a clear answer from them on how to fix this issue. I submitted a support ticket, but I don’t know when or if I’ll be able to get a response for them.

All our themes are built on responsive framework so they are responsive, but depending on element which is being used on a page and its settings, like for example big padding, or huge font size which are set directly on some element over visual composer, may cause issues on smaller screens because element styling will be applied inline and will override all other settings. If however you need to use bigger padding and fonts, adjustments can be made with some custom css, and our support will help you with that. I’ll inform support team to take a look at your tickets and to reply as soon as possible. We are handling a lot of tickets lately because of increased activity on Theme Forest, but we hope that response time will be decreased within couple of days.

ReplyDeleteOur theme is working fine, and issue isn’t caused by the theme. It is probably due to some modification or broken html in text widgets. That is why agent asked to perform update. Agent will reply to you soon enough, and please understand that this is not live chat, and support team is handling requests from other users too. They will get back to you shortly. And in the meantime you you should create backup of your site just in case, since updating website isn’t within the loop of our support and they won’t create backup copy of it.
