  1. Hi, for some reason, there are empty spaces in the main section on this page. It should be a full grid, right?

    http://wearechristchurch.org/blog/

    ReplyDelete
  2. So, the problem is that one of my posts is dropped down as if to create another row… still don’t know why it’s doing that.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Hi there! Try to disable the Lazy Load XT plugin and see if it makes any difference.

    ReplyDelete
  4. That didn’t fix it.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Any other suggestions?

    ReplyDelete
  6. I’ve tried to reproduce the issue on my end but without luck so far. On your frontpage the issue seem to have disappeared – did you fix it somehow?

    ReplyDelete
  7. I have no idea how it happened lol. But it’s all good! Another few questions:
    1) how can I remove the Page title bar?
    2) Can I put the header logo, menu, and search on the same line?
    3) How can I get the header image to link to that page specifically if it is not the home page?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Alright

    1) Try to add custom CSS, like:
    .page-title { display: none; }

    2) It won’t fit on lower resolution layouts: http://i.imgur.com/ElBIm5i.jpg

    3) In functions.php look for:

    alx_site_title

    Around line 350. Locate and replace this with the link you wish:

    href="'.home_url('/').'"

  9. Ok, I wish I was confident in webdesign enough to act like I can do this stuff. Can you help me out?

  10. Sorry for a late reply. I am unfortunately unable to help you with more custom work, but you could check out this for example: https://studio.envato.com/explore/wordpress-customization?&utm_campaign=internal+navigation&utm_content=footernav&utm_medium=themeforest&utm_source=marketplaces&sort=relevance&page=1 and look for WordPress customization.

  11. Good evening,

    is it possible to hide the social icons from the header, while keeping theme in the footer?

    If I use CSS [ display: none ] with the .fa-facebook-square for example, both of them, top and footer social icons, disappear… and really I cannot find the right CSS ID for the only ones in the top header…

    Have you any suggestion?

    Thanks

    PS I’ve been using it for a year, and I think your theme is great!

    Best regards

    Carlo

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hi Carlo! Try this custom CSS to hide it:

    #header .social-links { display: none; }

    Glad you like the theme!

  13. Hi, just baught theme and have problems with pictures in the slider. See https://www.fineartofliving.de/
    Is there a special or recommended size to show pictures regular in the slider to avoid this?
    Best regards, Hans

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hi Hans! Can you specify what the issue is? If you’ve regenerated thumbnails with the plugin, they should be the right size.

    ReplyDelete
  15. have a look to this link which might be self-explaining regarding pictures in the header area: https://www.fineartofliving.de/category/motor-neue-premium-automobile-sportwagen-luxuslimousinen-mehr/

    ReplyDelete
  16. I see the issue, with one item jumping down below the rest. I’ve so far been unable to reproduce the issue on my end. Do you have any plugins running on the site?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Try to regenerate thumbnails: https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

  18. Hi there,

    I’m having trouble setting the color for post author and link text.

    At the moment, they are both currently white, which is also the same colour as my background, which is consequently making them seem invisible. See below link:

    http://magazine.widowsorwidowers.com/acknowledging-international-widows-day/

    It seems their parameters are linked with the Primary Color function in Theme Options. The only thing is, I don’t wont to have to change the primary color from what it is currently set to.

    Is there a work around for this?

    Many thanks,

    Ed

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hi Ed! I would recommend you to set Primary color to #333333 or #000000. Then I’d change the stuff you want white with custom css, rather than the other way around.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thanks. This makes sense.

    Can you advise the name of the element/container I will need to customise for the logo background?

    There is a rectangle of the peach color that currently surrounds the logo. It is this element/container that I would like to make white.

  21. Try this custom css:

    .site-title { background: #fff; padding-left: 0; padding-right: 0; }

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/

    ReplyDelete
  22. Thanks.

    Almost, but above and below the logo is still showing as peach. Any idea how to make them white as well?

    Thanks for the support with this.

  23. Try this instead:

    .site-title { background: transparent!important; padding-left: 0; padding-right: 0; }

    ReplyDelete
  24. Boom!

    Thanks for the support and swift responses.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Boom! Looking good!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Also, is there a way of adding a Twitter share function at the end of each post?

    I’m currently only seeing Facebook, Pinterest and Google+

    http://magazine.widowsorwidowers.com/inspiring-stories-yvonne-broady/

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hm, strange. It looks like you are not using the latest version of the theme. Make sure to upload the latest. Download from this site, re-upload the theme and then see. If issue is still there, email contact@alxmedia.se and we can take it from there.

    The other option is to disable the social sharing buttons in Theme Options > Blog and then use one of many social sharing plugins.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks. Will update.

    I’m also having a few problems with getting the featured images to appear at their correct size and resolution. The small thumbnails and the main images in the body of the text are looking sharp, however the featured image is looking compressed. I have made sure the original images are of a high resolution. Any ideas what the problem might be? See below link to see compressed images:

    http://magazine.widowsorwidowers.com/category/inspiring-stories/

    ReplyDelete
  29. In functions.php on line 83 you will find:

    add_image_size( 'thumb-medium', 520, 245, true );

    Change that resolution to what you want it to be, to be sharp, and then regenerate thumbnails. https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    Alternatively, go to line 7 in content.php and change:

    <?php the_post_thumbnail('thumb-medium'); ?>

    To:

    <?php the_post_thumbnail('thumb-large'); ?>

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thanks for this.

    I have upgraded to the latest theme, however, I’m having some trouble removing the Featured Post boxes on certain pages. I ave removed it from the Main Page, but when in a certain category, the Featured Post boxes appear again. Any idea how I can get around this?

    Thanks,

    Ed

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi Ed, sorry for being unclear. I meant updating to the latest available version 1 of the theme, so you dont need to change to version 2. v2 is a completely differnet theme and does that to category pages.

    To locate v1, open the theme package and then open magaziner-package-v1.zip. Inside of it you will find magaziner.zip, which is the theme you should upload.

    ReplyDelete
  32. No worries. I have now updated to the correct version of the theme. It’s all looking great.

    One final thing – I would like to slightly reduce the amount of white space at the top of the page above the logo. How would I go about doing this?

    Thanks,

    Ed

    ReplyDelete
  33. Try this custom css:

    #header-top { padding-top: 10px; }

    Change px to what you want.

  34. Perfect. Thanks.

  35. Hi There,

    I’d like to know if there’s a way to remove the horizontal line on the front page header as well as the lines separating the social icons and search icon on the header?

    And also remove the “italic” aspect to the website headline on the theme. Is it possible without doing any coding?

    Kind regards

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hi,

    1) Add this custom css:

    #header-top { border-bottom: none; }
    .toggle-search { border-left: none; border-right: none; }

    2) Add this custom css:

    .site-description { display: none; }

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hi there,

    Thank you for the custom css codes. I appear to still have some issues.

    The header lines dividing the social media & search icons are gone. But only on the live preview of website.
    Please see the following screenshot:
    https://i.imgur.com/x4Djg9B.png

    In the updated websiteBut long horizontal line after the logo (in grey) is still there. Please see the following screenshot:
    https://i.imgur.com/KXdoaYL.png
    And, the website headline/description is still italic. Would it be possible to have straight?

    Kind regards,

    ReplyDelete
  38. You must remove the < PRE > code from the CSS for it to work properly.

    For non-italic description, do:

    .site-description { font-style: normal; }

    As for the page title border, if that is what you mean, remove it with:

    .page-title { border-bottom: none; }

    ReplyDelete
  39. Thank you so much for the rapid response, the CSS works properly.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hi again,

    On the front page, although I’ve listed 10 blog posts to be featured, only one is. Is it a technical bug?

    ReplyDelete
  41. You mean highlight post count? Those posts appears below the 5 featured posts as a carousel. Theme Options > Blog > Highlight Category > Set it to a category you have posts in, for example “Highlights”.

    Same for Featured Category, set a category with posts for it, example “Featured”.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Please see screenshots below, there’s only one post displayed on the front page.

    https://i.imgur.com/wUMvlOk.png

    https://i.imgur.com/IvThMGX.png

    ReplyDelete
  43. Theme Options > Blog > Featured Posts > CHECK Include featured posts in content area

    And see if the posts appear then.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hi there,

    When I Check “Include featured posts”, the featured posts appear. But I’d prefer other posts. Featuring two times the same posts isn’t user friendly. How can I display other posts or pages?

    * in the mobile view, the search button and page title are very close. Please see screenshot below.
    https://i.imgur.com/yUod4Xy.png
    Is it possible to place the search icon, on the menu bar? Or at least, place it at the same level as the page title? Something more esthetic.

    The menu doesn’t work in the mobile view. What can I do?

    Kind regards,

    ReplyDelete
  45. Can you send me your website url to contact@alxmedia.se so I can check out the issue on the live page?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Sure. I’ve sent you the website url.

  50. Hi! Try Theme Options > Blog > Highlight Post Count > 0

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hi there,

    Thank you for the support.

    If I do that, the horizontal page preview will disappear from both laptop\ipad and mobile view. I’d like to retrieve it only from the mobile view.

    }

  56. Good evening,
    Beautiful your theme I really like.
    I would like to solve a problem if you can,
    In practice, I would like the menu above when I scroll down was always
    Visible and not that disappears?
    How can you do it?

    Thank you, greetings.

  57. Hi there. The theme was designed so that the header menu is visible on scroll-up. It’s unfortunately not possible to have two menus that stick.

  58. Hi there,

    I’m trying to add a social link on the footer of my site. However, it’s not currently visible.

    Thanks,
